Last week I was having one of those days. I had a to-do list a mile long, I was exhausted and grumpy from picking up messes only to have them replaced with even greater messes just minutes later, and to top it all off I could feel the unmistakable ache and fatigue of the flu coming on. The last thing I felt like doing was heading in to town to do the grocery shopping, especially with a very reluctant four year old in tow.
So instead of battling to get us out the door, driving to the store, doing the shopping, loading up the car with the groceries, driving home, unpacking the groceries all while trying to placate R who loathes grocery shopping, and feeling utterly exhausted at the end of it all, I decided to try the Coles Online home delivery service.
The site was so easy to navigate and it only took me twenty minutes from logging in to checking out. Twenty minutes! It would have taken me longer than that just to get R and myself out of the door, let alone do the shopping as well. I simply placed the order, selected delivery for the following morning and that was it. So simple!
The delivery arrived right on time the following morning and despite the early hour (I had chosen the earliest delivery slot and it was half past 6 in the morning!) the delivery person was so cheerful and brought our groceries right to our kitchen bench. I have never seen R so enthusiastic about groceries! Anything that’s delivered breeds excitement in kids, and this was no exception. He was happily unpacking everything, excitedly checking the contents of every bag. Just when I thought he couldn’t possibly be more excited, we opened the boxes….
Coles Online offer fruit and vegetable boxes – so instead of selecting individual items, your entire fresh produce order can be completed with just one click . Fruit and vegetables can be ordered individually if you prefer, but I was on a mission to save some time so I simply chose a seasonal combo fruit and vegetable box and a seasonal salad box and it was done. Easy! The combo boxes contained such a fantastic variety of produce and it was all so fresh and colourful. R was thrilled when we opened them and started pulling everything out and investigating it all. Honestly, I have never seen that boy so excited about vegetables! That alone is enough to make me choose home delivered groceries every week.
It was such a delight to cross this huge chore off my list for the week and to have so much more time to get to the other million things on my to do list.
And another unexpected plus of ordering from Coles Online? These……..
Two huge cardboard boxes that originally contained our fresh produce – limitless imaginative play! These boxes have been a boat, a train, a plane and a space ship and I’m sure R will be coming up with many more uses for them over the coming weeks. Hours of fun!
